Abstract

The process of making disperse systems according to the parent Specification is modified by the addition of one or more non-sulphonated substances which facilitate dispersion. Esters containing free hydroxyl in the alcohol residue are excluded as substances which can be dispersed. Suitable additions consist of soaps, gall-acids and their derivatives, albumin, gelatin, glue, saponin, natural and artificial resins, derivatives of cholesterine, phosphatides, gelloses, gum, natural and artificial waxes, wool waxes, solvents and softening agents, organic basis and their salts, ammonium compounds of unsymmetrically acylated diamines. N-mono and poly-carboxylic acid esters of unsymmetrically substituted alkylene diamines and their ammonium compounds, and inorganic colloids. Examples describe the preparation of dispersions of tetrahydronaphthalene, olive oil, petroleum, and paraffin wax. The products may be used in the textile industry for waterproofing, softening, the production of sizings and dressings; in the leather industry for stopping, waterproofing or softening leather; also in impregnating or coating wood, building materials, etc.; also as washing, cleaning and wetting agents; also as lubricants, boring oils, plasticizing agents; also as agents for combating vegetable and animal pests; and in the preparation of cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations.ALSO:The process of making disperse systems according to the parent Specification for use as wetting agents is modified by the addition of one or more nonsulphonated substances which facilitate dispersion. Esters containing free hydroxyl in the alcohol residue are excluded as substances which can be dispersed. Suitable additions consist of soaps, gall-acids and their derivatives, albumin, gelatin, glue, saponin, natural and artificial resins, derivatives of cholesterine, phosphatides, gelloses, gum, natural and artificial waxes, wool waxes, solvents and softening agents, organic bases and their salts, ammonium compounds of unsymmetrically acylated diamines, N-mono and poly-carboxylic acid esters of unsymmetrically substituted alkylene diamines and their ammonium compounds, and inorganic colloids. Examples describe the preparation of dispersions of tetrahydronaphthalene, olive oil, petroleum and paraffin wax.
