[Class 86.] In mixing-apparatus in which the stirrers have a planetary motion about a vertical axis, the stirrer is adjustably mounted so as to vary its position with respect to the planet motion spindle to enable different sizes of container to be employed. In the form shown, the planet motion spindle d is fitted with an arm g having a number of bores h for the reception of the stirrer. In another form, the stirrer is mounted in a socket member adjustable radially by screw and nut mechanism.
