360,770. Valve gear. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd., 88, Regent Street, London.- (Assignees of Sheldrick, L. S.; 2509, Hazelwood Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.) Feb. 17, 1931, No. 5035. Convention date, Feb. 17, 1930. [Class 7 (vi).] For securing a non-metallic valve-timing gear to a metallic shaft, an annular washer 17 of concave cross section is arranged between the hub of the gear wheel 15 and the securing- nut 16. A positioning-pin 14 on a flange 13 on the: cam shaft enters a corresponding hole in the wheel hub. An extension 20 of the cam shaft enters a socket 19 formed on the gear cover 18 and containing a spring 21. The non-metallic gear may consist of layers of cloth' impregnated with phenol condensation products. Substances such as that known by the registered Trade Mark Textolite, or Celeron, or Formica may be used.
