Abstract

360,744. Electromedical apparatus. SENNER, W., 1, Kreuzstrasse, Pforzheim, Germany. Jan. 13, 1931, No. 1193. Convention date, Jan. 13, 1930. [Class 81 (ii).] An electrode for use on the human body, particularly for diathermy treatment, consists of a number of small, flat, scale-like metal plates held together by metal rings, tongues on the plates being bent round the rings, each of which holds at least three plates. The plates may be of triangular, quadrilateral or hexagonal shape, a typical arrangement being shown in Fig. 2. The electrode may be combined with a cover of yielding, nonconducting material, e.g. textile material, to which it is attached in an easily releasable manner, e.g. by sewing or by press-fasteners. The lead-in wire may be connected to the electrode by a press-fastener, or preferably by the arrangement shown in Fig. 7, in which the electrode fabric 1 carries a screw nut 17 having an inner thread engaging the bolt 18 which carries a circular plate 19. This bolt has an internal thread into which screws a bolt 20, having a smooth portion on its shank passing through the connecting-piece 21.. The connection is made by means of the screw 18 actuated by the plate 19. The connecting-piece 21 is movable vertically about the joint 22, and also laterally about the screw 20.
