360,509. Air compressors. LINDEQUIST, S., 20, Nachodstrasse, Berlin. Aug.. 14, 1930, No. 24388. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1929. Addition to 277,669, [Class 8 (i), Air and gases, Compressing &c.]. [Class 8 (i).] Valves and valve gear, arrangement of regulating and controlling compression.-A ported sleeve valve 3 is split at 4 and arranged in the cylinder 1. The valve is operated by a rack 5 actuated by tappets 8. A damping device 10 may be incorporated upon the rack, or only one tappet may be used, the rack being spring returned. Fig. 5 shows the rack operated in one direction by the cam 15 and thrust rod 13 and in the other direction by the cam 32. Alternatively the thrust rod may be pivoted to the bell crank 8 and connected to a connecting-rod attached to a crank. A means for regulating two compressors is described whereby the cams are inclined and moved axially, the operating mechanism being geared to one hand-wheel.
