360,505. Hand tools for destroying weeds. MAXTED, A. H., 101, Queen's Road, Watford, Hertfordshire. Aug. 14, 1930, No. 24344. [Class 6 (ii).] A weed-extracting tool comprising a handled tubular member having an open bottom end, a lateral opening in its wall, and a clod-ejector in its upper end, is provided with clod-retaining means at its lower end and is reinforced in the locality of the lateral opening by an outer tubular surround having a corresponding opening and furnished with an inclined face forming the clodejector. The lower end 5 of the tubular member 4 is tapered as shown in Fig. 3 or provided with an internal rib 12 of the shape shown in Fig. 5. The clod-ejecting-face 9 of the surround 7 lies flat on the inclined end 10 of the handle 3 at the upper end of the lateral opening of the tubular member 4.
