Abstract
360,153. Signs. GRAMBACH, C., 22, Huttenstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Oct. 9, 1930, No. 30282. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1929. [Class 3 (ii).] A combined reflecting and diffusing member for use ir box signs of the type com prising a facia 8 and illumi nating means 10 comprises a sheet 1 of grooved or prismatic glass having a " transparen mirror " coating 3 covered by a coating 4 of translucent paint varnish, or paste. The coating 4, which is preferably white and may be applied by a brusl or by dipping or spraying serves to diffuse the light fron the lamps 10, while for daylight use the mirror coating 3 reflects light incident on the front of the sign. In an alternative form, the top of the casing is glazed, and allows daylight to reach the back of the sheet 1, whence it is reflected through the facia, the mirror coating still serving to reflect light incident on the front.
