358,908. Cylinders. RICARDO, H. R., 21, Suffolk Street, Pall Mall, London. July 14, 1930, No. 21227. [Class 7 (ii).] A combustion chamber D<1> has a portion D2, which has less height than the remainder and is such that the clearance formed thereby comprises between 25 and 40 per cent of the whole clearance. The sparking plug is placed at F in the centre of the portion D<2> which is asymmetrical to a plane joining the cylinder axis and a point midway between the valve axis when the valves are arranged side by side, or the valve axis when the valves are opposed to one another.
