[Class 108 (ii).] Lateral canting, preventing.-A spring device for preventing canting of vehicle bodies comprises two transverse leaf-springs e pivoted to the axle a, their inner ends being connected by a sliding shoe g and their outer ends connected to the vehicle body d by adjustable rods h, so that when one supporting side spring c is compressed more than the other, the corresponding rod h rotates its leafspring e about the pivot f, thus rotating the other leaf-spring e by means of the shoe g and forcing the other rod h to balance the tilting movement. The joints i of the leaf-springs e and rods hand the pivots f may be constructed as shock-absorbers.
