Abstract
357,147. Workshops, kinemas, and theatres. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc., 195, Broadway, New York, U.S.A., BULL, R. A., Bush House, Aldwych, and SIMPSON, G. A. G., 20, Milton Mansions, Queen's Club Gardens, West Kensington, both in London. June 16, 1930, No. 18388. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii).] To silence noise from internal-combustion engines particularly in connection with portable public address systems, talking motion-picture systems, or soundrecording apparatus, the engine, together with its cooling system, its air intake system and its exhaust system and together with an electric generator driven thereby, is enclosed within a chamber consisting of or lined with sound attenuating material, such as rock wool, and provided with sinuous or baffled entrance and exit passages through which a draught may be produced to carry off excess heat and exhaust gases and supply air to the engine. A petrolelectric generator is shown at 10, a rotary transformer at 12 and a rotary converter at 13. The whole is enclosed in a cabinet 15 having the lining 16 secured by perforated metal or wire netting 17. The air inlet is at 18, and a fan 20 is located in the outlet. A door 23 with staggered joints is located opposite the engine starting handle. Specification 338,697, [Class 20 (i), Buildings and structures, Kinds &c. of], is referred to.
