Abstract
356,941. Road vehicle bodies. HENNINGER, A. B., 138, Kurf³rstendamm, Halensee, Berlin. Sept. 8, 1930, No. 26821. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1929. Addition to 318,483, [Class 108 (i), Road vehicles, Body details &c. of]. [Class 108 (i).] In vehicle bodies having longitudinal bearers of sheet metal as described in the parent Specification in order to keep the body floor as low as possible the longitudinal high webs in the neighbourhood of the passenger space are displaced towards the outer walls or web or are made substantially lower than the outer walls or webs. Fig. 1 shows a section of a body having three bearers, the webs 2 of the inner bearer 1 being displaced towards the outer bearers permitting a floor height as indicated at B. Fig. 2 shows a body of four bearers, the webs 7 being displaced outwardly and the webs 8 being shortened to allow the floor at a height shown at C. Fig. 6 shows a body of three bearers with webs 19,21 and having a floor height at F, the bearer 18 may if desired be reversed so that the webs project downwardly. The webs of the bearers in the neighbourhood of the seats, engine, &c., may be of the normal height and disposition as shown in plan in Fig. 11 in which the webs 2, 4 of the bearers in the passenger spaces H, J are displaced towards the sides while the webs 30, 31 at the engine and seat positions are disposed as shown.
