Abstract

356,631. Railway buffers. JAEGER, K., 11, Grosse-Gartenstrasse, Brandenburg-on-Havel, Germany. Jan. 21, 1931, No. 2038. [Class 104 (ii).] In buffer stops of the kind in which the block is connected by auxiliary rails 13 to movable sleepers adapted to be dragged over the ballast, the sleepers are connected by wooden blocks &c. 19 so that they move in parallelism, when engaged by brackets 20 on the rails 13. They may be pulled back into position by a strap 21. The ends of the rails have bars 22 co-operating with stops 23 on a sleeper 24 arranged close to the last fixed sleeper 25. When the buffer has moved to its maximum extent, the ends of the bars 22 pull the sleeper 24 forward to support the rails.
