Abstract
356,393. Surgical bedsteads. WHITFIELD, S. L. and WHITFIELDS BEDSTEADS, Ltd., 109, Watery Lane, Bordesley, Birmingham. July 21, 1930, No. 21981. [Class 52 (ii).] An actuating device tor ettectmg adjustments in surgical bedsteads comprises a screw 1 mounted in one or more bearings 4 and provided adjacent to one of the bearings with a fixed collar 5 and a detachable collar 7, which is adapted to be fixed as by a bolt 8 and nut 9, to a plain part 3 of the screw. Two diametral projections 10 on the collar 7 engage slots 13 in a socket 12 of a crank-handle 11 fitting the plain end 3 of the screw. The screw actuates a nut 16 on a slidable member adapted to adjust the angle of the supporting surface of a surgical bedstead.
