356,065. Pneumatic tyres. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO., 1144, East Market Street, Akron, Ohio, U.S.A. Dec. 19, 1930, No. 38319. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1929. [Class 144 (ii).] A tyre cover, particularly of the type adapted to be fitted directly to a hub barrel, is formed by oppositely winding cord strips 10, 15 on a cylindrical former 12, applying beadrings 17 at spaced intervals, applying pairs of opposite bias cord bands 18, 19 at the sides of the rings 17, severing the material (as at 26), folding the edges of the severed portions to form a flat band, and finally shaping the band to tyre form by expanding the mid-portion and moving the bead-portions towards each other, or by contracting the beadportions.
