Abstract

360,317. Pneumatic tyres. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO., 1144, East Market Street, Akron, Ohio, U.S.A. March 4, 1931, No. 6723. Convention date, May 31, 1930. [Class 144 (ii).] A tyre casing of the small bead diameter type, for fitment directly on to a hub, is built up on a cylindrical former 16 with the cord plies so arranged that in the subsequent shaping operation the cords of two adjacent plies are caused to interfit to form a single ply. In the construction shown, the casing comprises an inner pair of plies 10, 11 with crossed cords, a similar outer pair 12, 13, and intermediate narrower plies 25, 26. The cords 27, 28 of the latter plies are also crossed, being parallel respectively to the cords 23, 30 of the plies 11, 12.
