The supply voltage, preferably raised to approximately 1000 volts, is fed through a filter circuit, comprising a resistance R<1> in series with inductances D, E, and shunt condensers Cl .. C<4>, to a tapped resistance R<2>, from which anode voltage for an indirectly-heated amplifier V is fed through a resistance R<3>. The anode voltage for the photoelectric cell P is taken from a tapped resistance R<4> in series with a resistance R<5>. The output from the amplifier is taken off at O.
