Abstract
355,325. Speed governors. MOTORENFABRIK DEUTZ.AKT.-GES., Deutz, Cologne, Germany. May 20, 1930, No. 15517. Convention date, May 30, 1929. [Class 57.] A system for regulating internalcombustion engines, particularly Diesel engines, in which one lever controls the loading spring of a centrifugal governor and also the movement of the pump camshaft provided with inclined cams and controlling the fuel. The governor is loaded by two springs F<1>, F<2> and the lever H<1> is connected to the sleeve G and also a rod C<1> controlling the movement of the cams C of the fuel pump A. In the position of the lever as shown, the governor is loaded by a spring F<1> and is adjusted to prevent the speed of the engine falling below a predetermined limit. When the lever is in the position s the governor is loaded by both springs and prevents the engine racing. In between these limits the speed of the engine is determined by the position of the lever H<1>. In a modification the governor is provided with one spring and the travel of one weight is limited by a stop.
