Abstract

Hard vegetable fibres, other than cocoanut fibres, such as agave fibres and the like are treated in accordance with the process described in the parent Specification to produce a substitute for horsehair, particularly for use as a stuffing-material, which may be mixed with goats' or other hair. The material freed from embedding substances is treated in closed receptacles with dilute alkaline liquids at temperatures above 100 DEG C., e.g. from 120-150 DEG C.
