Abstract
354,055. Glazing showcases &c. GRANT, D. W., 14, Blinkbonny Grove, Craiglieth, Edinburgh. Aug. 6, 1930, No. 23504. [Class 20 (iii).] A corner-piece, for securing together the three unframed glass plates meeting at the corner of a showcase, shop counter, or the like, is adapted to fit over the edges of the plates and has a screw extending diagonally into the case for receiving a nut which serves to clamp the plates between the corner-piece and an internal resilient washer. As shown, a corner-piece 5, Figs. 1 and 3, preferably of metal, has flanges which extend over the meeting edges of three glass plates 4 of a show case. The corners of the plates are cut away to provide an aperture for a screw 8 which extends from the corner-piece diagonally into the case. The three plates are pressed firmly between the corner-piece and a resilient washer 10 by means of a nut 11. The washer may be of rubber, vulcanized fibre, or other elastic, resilient or compressible material. The screw may be adapted to carry an electric lamp fitting 12. Packing 15 of resilient material is inserted between the glass plates at the edges to render the joints dust-proof and airtight.
