Abstract

353,779. Carriers or crates for milk bottles &c. PIERSON, S. A., 414, Edgware Road, London. Oct. 3, 1930, No. 29603. [Class 18.] A carrier or crate, more particularly for milk and like bottles, of the type which is divided into compartments and is made of metal strip, some of which has embossments separated by flat portions, is characterized by the bottom-being constructed of metal strip having embossments spaced apart by flat portions. The carrier comprises a lower frame a of wire, an intermediate frame b of metal strip and an upper frame c of metal strip. The three frames are spaced from one another by vertical metal strips d which are curled around the bottom frame as at d<1> and riveted to the frames b, c at the flat portions d<2> between the embossments e. The bottom of the carrier is also formed from interlaced embossed metal strips f curled around the frame a at f<1>. Metal strips g which may or may not be embossed divide the upper frame into compartments, and the intermediate frame is divided by Cross wires h which may help to secure a handle k when-such is provided.
