Abstract

353,643. Loose-leaf binders. MOORE'S MODERN METHODS, Ltd. and HESKINS, G. W. G., 12, St. Bride Street, London. June 21, 1930, No. 18982. [Class 146 (i).] A loose-leaf binding device formed as a unit separate from covers comprises a baseplate A carrying vertical filing posts B and connected by a flexible strip E to a metal carrying-bar D, between which and an attached strip F a sliding bar C for engaging and locking the ends of the posts is restrained from free sliding movement solely by frictional engagement between the bar C and the strip F. The strip F, which is connected to the bar D by rivets C<1> passing through elongated slots C<2> in the locking-bar C, is of millboard or like material which will afford sufficient frictional resistance to prevent unintentional movement of the locking-bar C. Keyhole slous C<3> in the locking-bar C engage notches B<1> on the ends of the posts B to lock them to the bar D. Holes D<1> are provided in the bar D and the strip F to accommodate the ends of the posts, and so that it can be seen if the parts C<3>, BI are engaging properly. The flexible material E encloses the parts C, F, D. The unit may be attached to a cover by riveting.
