Abstract
352,523. Dams and like walls. GODENIR, A., 58, Windsor House, Victoria Street, London. March 13, 1930, No. 8184. [Class 68 (ii).] Hydraulic dams and reservoir and like waterresisting walls are built in the form of a series of spaced watertight partitions of successively lessened heights forming chambers containing water at successively lower levels. The Figure shows a dam consisting of a series of reinforced concrete walls a .. a<4>, the crests of which are in a plane inclined at 45‹. They are braced by perforated transverse partitions d, and built, integrally with the partitions and the base c, over a well or passage f separated by a wall a<5> from an open-topped siltcollecting chamber g with walls g<1> rising above the floor h of the reservoir A. Water may be led into the chambers between the walls a .. a<4> by a pipe i and valved connections i<2> .. i<5>.
