Abstract
352,120. Oil stoves ; burners. BADSHA, F. J., 613, Parsi Coloney, Dadar, Bombay, India. April 17, 1930, No. 12187. [Classes 75 (i) and 126.] Portable oil stoves ; guards; flame deflectors.-A cover or guard automatically slides over and protects the flame of an oil stove when the cooking utensil is removed. In the construction shown, a base A carries brackets B in which are spring- controlled pivoted rods C, the inner ends of which support the stove E whilst the outer ends carry legs I depending from a cylindrical guard G provided with rings H for supporting the utensil J. When the utensil is in place, as in Fig. 5, the guard is forced down and the stove raised between guides D bringing the flame close to the utensil. When the utensil is removed the combined action of the springs and the counterbalancing effect of the stove raises the guard and lowers the stove, the flame being then surrounded by the guard. Gravity-controlled pivoted hoods F may be provided on the burner which are engaged by a wire or wires attached to the guard when the latter rises and moved to cover the flame as shown in Fig. 6.
