Abstract

351,843. Travelling cases. FINCH, W., 51, High Road, Ilford, Essex. Sept. 26, 1930, No. 28854. [Class 52 (i).] A case for use in travelling, e.g. in cars or aircraft, consists of a partitioned cabinet with fall-down hinged door, and a hinged lid. The Figure shows a small cabinet with a door 2 fitted with a blotter 5. It is supported by quadrants 4 which slide over stop pins 23. The lid 3 normally slopes down from back to front in order to discharge rain &c. and contains a mirror 20. Partitions divide the body into compartments for various articles. The compartments 9 .. 15 may contain respectively lip salve, lip stick, and matches ; cigarettes ; pencils, a brush, a towel, a face-cloth and soap, and scent. The compartments 15, 16 are separated by a shallow partition 17, and may contain smelling-salts and a housewife. The large compartment 18 may contain maps and a first-aid outfit, and the compartment 19 may contain a flask and a comb. A low partition 21 is fitted at the base. On the back of the device is a flat hook, by means of which it may be suspended. Pressed-out parts 8 on the back hold it spaced from a vertical surface against which it may rest.
