Abstract
368,917. Foot-rests. WILLIAMS, T. H., 4, Bath Street, Lytham, Lancashire. Jan. 23, 1931, No. 2259. [Class 52 (ii).] A stool convertible into a support for shoe cleaning comprises a rectangular box A, on supports a, with its front end a<1> lower than the back a<2>, and its sides higher than the front. An extension B controlled by a spring b is hinged to the front a<1>, whilst a lid or cover C, hinged to the back, is of L-shaped design, one arm forming a false front in one position (Fig. 1), the other arm bearing a strip of fabric E and forming the seat. A shoe rest c<2>, c<3> is affixed to the false front, and when the cover C is raised, the extension B turns up to support it under the projection c<1>, the cover E at the same time falling down and pulling into position a tray H for the brushes. A projection b<2> fitting into the slot e<6> is used for bringing the cover to the foot-rest position and a handle F is attached to the sides for carrying purposes. The interior of the box is partitioned to form a receptacle for brushes &c.
