Abstract

486,553. Convertible seats. STUTELY, F. A. Dec. 7, 1936, No. 33538. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] A chair or stool comprises a rigid frame and a removable and reversible seat bottom 14 the underside 12 of which is formed as a tray or table top, the seat frame 10 being arranged to encircle the support and locate a peripheral part 13 of the seat bottom 14 in either position. The frame may be formed with a recess 11 in which the seat bottom fits, or a flange on the latter may overlap the surface of the frame, an upstanding rim 16 forming a surround for the tray or table engaging within the frame. Handles 18 may be provided, and the seat bottom may have under-cut parts 15 to facilitate removal from the frame.
