Abstract

149,302. Mathieu, J. July 18, 1919, [Convention date]. Seats; frames; seat backs.-Chairs or tables are formed with legs inclined inwardly to a vertical line forming the edge of an imaginary parallelopipe, the feet intersecting the angles at the base and the upper parts of the legs forming rounded corners of the top of the parallelopiped, the crosssection of said legs being inwardly or outwardly curved. Fig. 9 shows such a chair, the legs being made from sheet metal, and the wings a' on the legs a being united to form a frame for the seat f. The back g, which may be detachably connected to the seat by lugs j, is shaped so that when removed from its position of use it may be fitted over the seat. By forming the legs as described above, a number of the chairs may be nested together for packing as shown in Fig. 12.
