Abstract
351,366. Condensers. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Oct. 20, 1930, No. 31403. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1929. [Class 38 (ii).] Conducting plates inserted in the dielectric layers which separate the active plates of a condenser, instead of being left isolated are connected together when they are in positions representing corresponding potentials with respect to the active plates. Thus, in Fig. 3, the plates 4, 5 are each equidistant from the respective active plates 1, 2 and are interconnected. In Fig. 4, where there are two conductive plates between each pair of active plates, plates 7, 8 and 9, 10 would be interconnected as shown. By so doing, if the resistance of a part of the dielectric falls, the potential distribution throughout the remainder of the dielectric alters to lessen the overload on the parts, the resistance of which remains high.
