Abstract
350,760. Surgical compression appliances. JAUER, O. E., 6, Kaiserplatz, Wilmersdorf, Berlin. July 7, 1930, No. 20582. [Class 81 (ii).] An appliance for restricting the flow of blood to the head comprises a rubber or like band a having sponge rubber pads b secured thereto, the pads being spaced from one another and arranged in a single row or in a double row and in staggered relation as shown. The spaces between the pads provide ventilation which may be enhanced by holes e in the band and by holes g in the band and pads, the latter holes being reinforced by celluloid eyelets h of the kind employed in boots. The pads may be of any other geometrical form, for example, circular, triangular, or trapeziform, and may be arranged in any fashion. The band is secured around the head by means such as a strap and buckle.
