Abstract
348,302. Feedwater supply apparatus. WEERTS, V., 104, Rue de Pepinster, Ensival, Belgium. March 22, 1930, No. 9244. Convention date, March 23, 1929. [Class 123 (ii).] The admission of steam under pressure to discharge feedwater from a tank 2 is regulated by a valve 4a controlled by an electromagnet 5 the circuit of which includes gaps 110c, 110d, 111c, adapted to be closed by the water and to operate the electromagnet by means of a starting relay 10d to open the valve and a holding relay 10c to keep it open when the water level falls. Feed enters the tank through a pipe 3 the steam admission valve 4a being closed. When the level rises above the gap 111c a stop relay 11c opens a switch 11 in the circuit of an electromagnet 8 operating a steam discharge valve which accordingly closes. When the gap 110d is sufficiently immersed the starting relay 10d causes a contact bridge 10d to complete the circuit of the electromagnet 5 to open the valve 4a. After some time the circuit of the electromagnet 8 is broken at a second point by switch 10. After the water level sinks below the gap 110d, the electromagnet 5 is maintained energized by means of the holding relay 10c until the gap 110c is uncovered, whereupon valve 4a is closed and valve 7a opened.
