Abstract

In the process disclosed in the parent Specification, which consists in subjecting rubber to the action of water at above 100 DEG C. and then washing, the water used for washing and preferably the water used in the heat treatment is substantially free from mineral or metallic salts and preferably free from organic impurities. The resulting rubber has enhanced electrical insulating properties.
