Abstract
347,958. Gate and door fastenings. KING, F., 52, Iron Mill Lane, Crayford, Kent. June 26, 1930, No. 19408. [Class 44.] A gate or door fastening comprises a stud J fixed on the gate T, and a pivoted U-shaped member C on the post P engaged by the stud and rocked, on closing the gate, to the position shown in Fig. 1 in which it supports the end of the gate, a spring-actuated pivoted catch D snapping under a shoulder on member J to retain it in fastened position. A stop-member B on the gate post prevents the stud from being lifted out of member J. To open the gate the catch D is released by a finger-piece E or pull-rod G.
