Abstract
347,765. Binding-posts. WET, P. J. DE, 197, Queen's Gate, Kensington, London. March 5, 1930, No. 34910/29. [Class 38 (i).] The fixed base c of a screw - down binding- post is formed with a recess e into which the screw-head or nut enters, the wire being passed into the recess through apertures r in the wall cl of the recess, and a washer w having tags guided by slot f in the wall c<1> rests upon the wire. The wall of the recess e may be integral with the base or may be an extension on a cup-shaped insulating or metallic surround, c<2>, Fig. 6, that may be screwed or otherwise attached to the block h. The block or base is fixed by a projection d of a form suitable for riveting, moulding, or screwing into a panel or support. The projection d may be integral with the base c or may be screwed into it and may then project upwards to carry a nut to replace the screw a, and may have a head at the top or bottom end. The base or clamping nut or screw may be encased in insulating material.
