Abstract

347,673. Locks. ELLINGSON, E., 85, Liberty Street, San Francisco, U.S.A. Jan. 21, 1930, No. 2130. [Class 44.] Locks, revolving-barrel lock-mechanism, masterkey.-A revolving-barrel lock with double-leg pin tumblers, is provided with a control bar which, when released by the lifting of a single pin tumbler by the master-key, can be moved axially to raise all the other tumblers. The casing 5 has slots 7, 8, for engaging the T-head of a connector bar 11 which is operated by a spiral groove 12 in the barrel 6. The pin-tumblers 16 slide in slots 14 in a U-shaped holder 13, each having a leg 17 normally engaging a slot 18 in the casing, and a second leg 19 carrying the spring 22 and engaging a slot 21 in the casing if lifted too high by a wrong key. The control bar 23 is locked against movement by the last pin 16, Fig. 7. When the pin is lifted by the master-key B, the end of the key, engaging a flange on the bar, can push it forward against the spring 28 to cause the cam surfaces 24 of the bar to lift all the other tumblers to free the barrel.
