Abstract

Permanent admixture of mineral oil and nitro-cotton in compositions for the coating of paper, fabrics, &c., is obtained by incorporating in the composition a solution of cyclohexanol acetate containing butyl acetate and butyl cellulose. The films &c. made from such compositions are flexible and resist the deteriorating action of light. In the preparation of the composition, nitro-cotton is dissolved in ether-alcohol, and to the solution amyl stearate is added; a solution of pale mineral oil in the cyclohexanol acetate preparation is then made; finally the two solutions are mixed.ALSO:Permanent admixture of mineral oil and nitro-cotton in compositions suitable for the coating of paper, fabrics and articles, is obtained by incorporating in the composition a solution of cyclohexanol acetate containing butyl acetate and butyl cellulose. The films &c. made from such compositions are flexible and resist the deteriorating action of light, and they are particularly suitable as the coatings of stencil sheets. In the preparation of the composition, nitro-cotton is first dissolved in ether-alcohol, and to the solution amyl stearate is added; a solution of pale mineral oil in the cyclohexanol acetate preparation is then made; finally the two solutions are mixed. Specifications 2256/56, 3150/74, 3647/77, 2266/83, 12013/87, [all in Class 100, Printing, Letterpress &c.], 19772/09, 6387/13, [both in Class 2 (ii), Cellulose &c.], and 105,137, [Class 95, Paints &c.], are referred to.ALSO:Permanent admixture of mineral oil and nitro-cotton in compositions suitable for the coating of paper, fabrics, &c., is obtained by incorporating in the composition a solution of cyclohexanol acetate containing butyl acetate and butyl cellulose. The films &c. made from such compositions are flexible and resist the deteriorating action of light.
