Abstract

347,394. flexible handles. KUNZ, J., Cronberg, Taunus, Germany. March 5, 1930, No. 7264. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 6, 1930.] [Class 61 (i).] Fixing hollow handles by welding; grip, facilitating; fixing by axial holding devices with wedges.- Holders for hammers, chisels, swages, &c. comprise a piece of ordinary wire rope connecting the tool to the handle or grip. Wire rope 3 may be connected to a tool 1 by a bushing 6 compressed or shrunk on the rope, and keys 7 engaging a tapered bore in the tool. Other tools may thus be substituted. A similar bush 8 on the other end of the rope enables the grip 2, which may be corrugated as shown and of any suitable cross section, to be fastened thereto by welding, riveting, shrinking, pressing, or screwing. The tool 1 may similarly be secured by a screwed bush or by welding. A modification is described. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the wire rope may be replaced by any other resilient material, such as iron-reinforced rubber. This subject - matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
