Abstract
347,350. Liquid and gaseous fuel burners. STENFORS, F. I. E., 2, Ving- hastvagan, Alsten, Stockholm. Feb. 12, 1930, No. 4736. Convention date, Feb. 13, 1929. [Class 75 (i).] Atmospheric gas or vapour burners; vaporizing apparatus.-A liquid or gaseous fuel burner comprises an outer chamber 12 containing a rotatable body 1 formed with a mixing chamber 3 and a combustion chamber 1a surrounded by a number of conduits 4 .. 11. Liquid fuel or gas supplied through a pipe 16 and a nozzle 17 is vaporized or preheated in the uppermost conduit 4 and is mixed in the chamber 3 with air which is admitted to the chamber 12a through openings 13 controlled by a rotatable apertured disc-plate 14 and is preheated by passage through the conduits 5 .. 11. By continuously or intermittently rotating the body the conduits 4 .. 11 are successively brought beneath the nozzle 17 so that each in turn forms the fuel vaporizing or preheating conduit, choking up by carbon deposits being thereby prevented. Additional air may be supplied to the flame at the mouth of the combustion chamber from the chamber 12a through a conduit 22. Unburnt oil drains into the chamber 12a and passes through an outlet 24 to a receptacle which may be fitted with a float arranged to operate a valve in the supply conduit. A removable inspection shutter 20 which may be provided with a mica or glass window or fitted with an air or steam injection nozzle is mounted in the rotatable body. The burner may be modified by supplying air under pressure to the chamber 12a or by interchanging the positions of the chambers 1, 12.
