Abstract

The process for making fertilizers described in the parent Specification is modified in that for the purpose of increasing the surface tension water-soluble magnesium salts are employed as the additions to the liquid mixture containing ammonium nitrate and one or more other fertilizing substances. According to one example a mixed fertilizer is composed of ammonium nitrate and calcium carbonate with a small quantity of magnesium chloride; in another example the ingredients are ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate and a small quantity of magnesium nitrate.ALSO:The process for making fertilizers described in the parent specification is modified in that water-soluble magnesium salts are employed as the additions to the liquid mixture containing ammonium nitrate and one or more other fertilizing substances. According to one example, a mixed fertilizer is composed of ammonium nitrate and calcium carbonate with a small quantity of magnesium chloride; in another example the ingredients are ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate, and a small quantity of magnesium nitrate.
