Abstract

346,778. Paper-making and like machines. VICKERY, F. W., 4, Lambeth Palace Road, London. Jan. 13, 1930, No. 1208. [Class 96.] The assembly in the paper mill of flexible blade doctors for the rolls of paper-machines is facilitated and the transport of a base-bar therewith is dispensed with by constructing the spring fingers so that they can be linked together to form a continuous chain. The fingers are connected together by clips 8 and for this purpose are provided with holes 2 and notches 4, thus ensuring two-point engagement between each finger and clip. To facilitate assembly, the fingers are bent outwards at their rear ends as at 9 and studs or the like 17 set in the edges of the fingers, by overlapping the adjacent fingers, maintain the fingers in alignment to enable the doctor 12 to be pushed into the slotted keeps 13.
