Abstract
346,173. Fire screens. DURRANT, F., 114, Cheapside, London. April 14, 1930, No. 11760. [Class 126.] Air heating fittings; air, moistening.-In a firescreen of the type which is of hollow construction to form an air-heating passage from which the warm air passes to the room, one of the walls, preferably that facing the fire, extends to the floor in order to avoid draughts. The screen shown comprises upwardly-converging walls a, b and side walls c, forming the air-heating passage. The wall a extends down to the floor-level, and is extended to form a trough-like base e which contains water for humidifying the air. The upper part a<1> of the wall a is curved to direct the heated air into the room. Any or all of the walls a, b, c may be perforated. The water-container may be placed elsewhere, e.g. part of the way up, at the top of, or behind the screen, or may be omitted, in which case the front e<1> of the base may be removed.
