Abstract

346,087. Separating sheets in pack rolling. EDWARDS, R., Martins Ferry, Ohio, U.S.A. Feb. 7, 1930, No. 4258. [Class 83 (iv).] In a machine for separating sheets after pack rolling, a pair of driven rolls 1 and 2 are slidably housed in a frame 5, with the top roll 1 vertically adjustable by screws 6 and handle 13. Intermediate idle rolls 14, mounted in blocks 15, slidable in the frame 5, are arranged so that their axes lie in the same vertical plane as those of the driven rolls. Another roll 16 loosely mounted in the blocks 15 guides the plates to be separated and exerts a wedge action upon them as they are drawn through the rolls. Plates 17 . . 20 guide the sheets as they pass towards and away from the rolls.
