345,157. Turbo-generators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Warren, J. B.; 33, Elm Street, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) May 23, 1930, No. 15931. Convention date, May 23, 1929. [Class 110 (iii).] Mounting and supporting.-In a power generating installation comprising a H.P. turbine driving a generator and a L.P. turbine of greater capacity driving a second generator, the former set is mounted upon the larger generator casing. The generator casing 13 has a flat top to accommodate the bedplate 16 of the H.P. turbine set 15 which is thus mounted clear of the L.P. turbine top casing. The H.P. turbine 4 is mounted at the front end on brackets 7 which are designed to take care of expansion strains in the casing. Means for reheating steam passing from the H.P. turbine to the L.P. turbine are provided by a heater 11 in the pipe-line 12. A speed governor 8a is supported above an oil tank 8b. A small generator 23 provides current for the field windings of generators 13, 15. The two main generators may run in parallel. Cooling air for both generators is supplied through conduits 20, 21 and exhausted by way of conduit 22.
