Abstract
344,648. Gas burners. GUHL, H., 5, Richard-Wagnerstrasse, Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany. Feb. 25, 1930, No. 6313. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1929. [Class 75 (i).] A. standard burner head 3 for cooking and like purposes has fitted to it a burner cover or covers 4, 5 of materially larger diameter than the burner head, the overhanging portions of the cover being formed with gas channels 6, 7 through which the gas is supplied to the flames and which are extended as compared with those supplying the flames in a standard burner. The lower burner cover 4 separates the mixing tubes 1, 2 for the large flame and small flame respectively and comprises the channels 6, 7 supplying the flames. A loose flat upper cover 5 closes the channels 7 at the top while the lower channels 6 are covered underneath by a ring 8 rigidly attached to the cover 4. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the inner diameter of the ring 8 is larger than the outer diameter of the burner head 3 leaving an annular gap 9 through which additional air is supplied to the large flame. A single burner cover 12, Fig. 9, may be employed, channels 11, 14 for the large and small flames respectively being provided in the burner head and extended by channels 13, 15 cast on the lower side of the cover and closed by a ring 8. Lugs 16 on the cover engage recesses in the head to ensure that the channels 13, 15 are in alignment with the corresponding channels 11, 14.
