344,347. Signs. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., Strowger Works, Liverpool, and SIMPSON, L. M., The Bungalow, Laurel Bank, Stanks, near Leeds. Nov. 25, 1929, No. 36084. [Class 3 (ii).] In a device for displaying numbers by means of groups of lamps, each group corresponding to a single number, the groups are arranged on a vertical framework, and the lamps of each group are adapted to be lighted selectively to display the required number through a ground glass screen carrying a stencil provided with figures, the screen and stencil covering an opening individual to the group in a metal cover. In the construction shown a framework is divided by vertical and horizontal bars into sections to accommodate display panels, each comprising a metal frame 40 provided with a ground glass screen 41, behind which is mounted a stencil provided with digits. Each digit is adapted to be illuminated by a lamp preferably of the type used in telephone systems. The panel is detachably secured in position by means of a clamping screw 44 and pins45,thelatterengaging in holes in the frame member 23.
