Abstract

343,774. Manicuring - appliances. CULVER, G. G., 3527, Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A. March 10, 1930, No. 7779. Convention date, May 22, 1929. [Class 131.] A device for use in applying softening lotion to the cuticle, comprises a receptacle for the tip of the finger adapted to receive the treating fluid and having means for sealing the receptacle to the finger to prevent escape of the fluid. As shown, the receptacle 10 is provided with a flexible diaphragm 14 having a central opening 15 through which the finger tip may be passed by stretching the wall of the opening. The diaphragm is attached to a ring 16 secured in the top of the receptacle, and a screwed cap 18 may be provided. In a modification, the diaphragm is secured over the top of the receptacle by its own resiliency, and in a further modification, the receptacle and diaphragm are moulded integrally in rubber.
