Abstract

343,345. Delivery apparatus for paper - bag making machines. WINDMOLLER & HÍLSCHER GES. and DAMBACHER, X., 27, Munsterstrasse, both in Lengerich, Westphalia, Germany. March 12, 1930, No. 7994. [Class 100 (i).] The delivery means of a paper-bag-making machine, in which the bags are conveyed in flakelike formation on a conveyer belt to the delivery table, comprises a rotating gripper device which seizes the formed bags one by one and lays them bottom downwards on the belt, the bags being retained thereon by pressure bands as far as the delivery table, where they are thrown one on top of the other to form a stack. The cut bag tubes are fed between bands 2, 3 to the bottom forming cylinders 4, 5, the formed bottom being adjacent to the cylinders 4. The bag then descends between bands 6, 6a, being seized one by one by grippers 9 and delivered on to the conveying belt 10. The grippers, attached to spaced discs 8, are rotated at a greater linear speed than that of the belt 10, so that the bags assume a flake-like formation. Two bands 17<1>, of the pressure bands 17, are led over guide pulleys 18a, placed between the spaced discs 8, so that the bags are seized and pressed on to the belt 10 as soon as delivered by the grippers. The bags then move to the delivery point 14, 18f, where the belt 10 drops vertically, where they are thrown on to the delivery table. This latter consists of two ledges 15<1> attached to two vertical screwed stops 22, which are rotated in opposite directions by sprocket 29, shaft 26, and bevels 24, 25. Each vertical element is splined to the shaft 26, being capable of horizontal movement along the element 28<1>, and the whole stacking element may be slid horizontally along the frame so that the ledges 151 can accommodate different sized bags. As the screws are rotated, the bags in contact therewith are pressed downwardly to slope the pile away from the delivery point.
