Abstract
343,134. Electric radiators. BELL & CO., Ltd., A. and BELL, N. M., Kingswell Works, Kingswell Street, Northampton. Nov. 12, 1929, No. 34450. [Class 39 (iii).] In an electric fire having a tile or like surround r, a cement or like box p formed or mounted on the back of the surround encloses the fire which is detachably mounted on members embedded in the box or surround, and a removable fret or trivet is provided underneath the fire aperture whereby access may be had to the securing means for the fire and the latter may be withdrawn or replaced. The heating elements e are secured to metal strips d interconnected by a bar o carrying a terminal block j. The upper ends of the strips d are arranged in front of a cross-bar c let into the box p, and the lower ends of the strips engage bolts secured to the surround and fitted with wing nuts w. The depth of the box p and the depth of the returned ends of the surround are sufficient to enable the fire to be fitted against a flat wall. The switch box k is arranged inside one of the returned ends. An asbestos or metal sheet covers the back of the fire. A ventilator a is arranged above the fire aperture. If desired the surround may be flat, recessed or splayed.
