[Class 20 (i).] A transportable frame structure for ridge tents, of the kind in which the ridge-pole is clamped between inwardly projecting extensions of the supporting legs and saddles to which the pairs of legs are pivoted, is constructed so that the ridgepole is clamped by separation of the legs. In one construction, the frame comprises a telescopic ridge-pole, having a central portion 12, 13, as seen in plan in Fig. 3, and adjustable extending end sections, 28, 29, which latter rest in saddles 57, Fig. 4, to which the supporting legs 10, 11, are pivoted at 58, 59, respectively. The upper ends of the legs are forked and each arm of the fork is received by a band 47 of a plate 48 which has an inwardly extending curved jaw 50. The jaws 50 are adapted to clamp the ridge-pole against the saddle 57 when the legs are opened. Hooks 60, 61 are provided for supporting lanterns &c. The two side bars 12, 13, of the ridge-pole are secured to one another in spaced relationship by a spacing clip 16. The sliding end sections 28, 29 are secured in any position of adjustment by clamping devices 26. The tent may have a sewn-in floor, and the canvas is held down by the tent legs which pass through eyes in the canvas on the ground. Specification 13311/99, [Class 52, Furniture &c.], is referred to.
