Abstract

342,017. Cigarette cartons &c. ROBINSON, A., Wheatfield Villa, Brockholes, near Huddersfield, and CLOUGH, F., 32, West Terrace, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough. Nov. 8, 1929, No. 34058. [Class 18.] A cigarette carton or like packet has a number of book matches attached thereto initially or the matches or carton may be provided with means for the subsequent attachment of the matches to the carton; when the carton is of the drawer and shell type, the drawer has a flap which covers the matches. As shown in Fig. 2 the matches, with a striking surface, 12 are secured to the front of the carton shell 8 and the flap 10 for covering the matches is secured to the back of the drawer 9 ; the match support may be provided with a tongue to engage a slit in the front of the carton. In Fig. 3 the book matches are secured to the flap 9 of the drawer of the carton and in another form the lower part of the shell of the carton is provided with a pocket in which a strip of book matches may be inserted which has a striking surface secured thereto. In the case of an open-ended carton the strip of matches with the striking surface is secured near the bottom of the carton and a closing flap near the top thereof. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1785/14, 6685/14, 180,013, 217,532 and 250,110, [all in Class 18, Boxes &c.].
