Abstract

340,521. Screw threads. ROWELL, H. S., 39, Spencer Road, Chiswick, and BRITISH DARDELET THREADLOCK (D.D.G.) CORPORATION, Ltd., 42, Kings. way, both in London. June 27, 1929, No. 19818. [Class 89 (i).] Self-locking screw-threaded members acting in the manner described in Specification 242,299, [Class (i) 89, Bolts &c.] are made capable of reversible engagement by forming the top of the thread on one member, for example the nut 1, with two oppositely inclined surfaces 4, 5 at equal angles with the axis, this angle of inclination being preferably from 4¢ to 7¢‹. The bottom of the thread on the coacting member, the bolt 2, is inclined at the same angle as one of the faces 4, 5. The lateral faces of the threads may be inclined as shown, at an angle preferably of 75¢‹, or they may be perpendicular to the axis.
